The Sphynx (Canadian Sphynx) is a breed of cat developed through selective breeding starting in the 1960s, known for its lack of fur, though it is not truly hairless. The Sphynx has a lovely nature, being very intelligent, inquisitive and loves to be the center of attention. It is often said that Sphynx kittens are one part cat, one part dog, one part monkey and one part child! Sphynx are known for their extroverted behavior. They are not your typical cat person's cat. They require devoted owners that have plenty of time and love to share.

The Elf cat has a unique look with a fantastic personality! The Elf Cat comes from crossing a Sphynx (Canadian Sphynx) and an American Curl. Both the Sphynx and the American Curl have very distinct appearances. The Sphynx is a "hairless" cat that is actually covered with very short, peach like fuzz. It also has large, dominant ears that draw the attention. In a similar manner the American Curl draws attention with its ears as well! Unlike a Sphynx the American Curl doesn't have large ears, rather they have ears that curl back.

Officially registered in 2005 the Bambino is a hybrid which crosses a Munchkin cat with a Sphynx for a truly unique, adorable, and very friendly cat. The results are usually a short legged and hairless cat with a kitten like personality. The name Bambino was given to them because they are like babies (bambino means baby in Italian). They are playful and lovable and never seem to grow out of this temperament.
It should be noted that not all Bambinos that are bred fall into the standard. There are some Bambinos that end up with long legs and some that end up with fur (often called nonstandard Bambinos).

The Dwelf is a cross between the Sphynx, Munchkin and American Curl. The Dwelf is similar to the Bambino, by having short legs, and like the Elf Cat with its curled ears. The Dwelf is a small cat with elf like features and a dwarf stature. A full grown Dwelf cat typically weighs around 4 lbs.
The Dwelf cat is a perfect pet, has a very social personality and enjoys being around people. They love to play and despite their short legs these kitten sized cats are quick!
